Leaders, are you finding it more and more challenging to recruit, retain and develop your staff and teams?  Everyone wants the best performing teams and individuals within their organizations, but with today’s staffing challenges, it’s become more and more difficult to recruit, engage, and retain solid talent (and wages and benefits are just not enough anymore!).

The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to host an IN PERSON discussion on Tuesday, June 4 in the Twin Ports: “The Shift: Recruiting, Engaging & Retaining Workers in Today’s Environment.”  The discussion will start with two speakers, each delivering a brief “TEDtalk-like” thought-starter presentation, followed by discussion from all attendees.

We’ll first hear from Michelle Nelson, OD Specialist at St. Louis County, who will explore “the shift” that is taking place in the workforce and why 2024 is forecasted to be “the year of the people.”  She will share data on what is driving workforce wellness and engagement from the US Surgeon General and Gallup – drivers that are impacting organization’s ability to recruit, engage and retain good talent.

We’ll then hear from Sandi Larson, Director of the Women’s Business Alliance North at the Entrepreneur Fund, who will explore the importance of creating an organizational culture where people want to work. Sandi will share what business culture is, and how it helps in attracting the right people, which leads to having loyal employees. She will also share ideas you can implement that will help build the business culture you want for your business.

After both speakers, we’ll have Q&A and discussion, allowing all attendees to share and explore strategies that create a high performance culture. When people love where they work, they not only stay but tell others. If you are in a position of leadership and want to learn about “the shift” and how to build a culture that fosters engagement and high performance, join us June 4!

This session is Tuesday, June 4 from 3:30-5:00 PM at the Kitchi Gammi Club (831 E Superior St, Duluth, MN 55802).  Arrive, network, mingle (yes, you asked for it — you have in person networking!) from 3:30-4:00 (light snacks provided); discussion 4:00-5:00; and for those who’d like to stay for a drink (cash bar), additional networking until 5:30!  Free for PEN members; $20 for non-members.
