The Entrepreneur Fund (EFund) is recruiting three additional members to join its Board of Directors. These individuals will help guide our vision of fostering “communities created and sustained by entrepreneurs.”
As a trusted resource for small business growth across the region, EFund provides trusted guidance and tailored financing to local business owners, helping build a stronger regional economy through entrepreneurship, quality employment, and economic diversity.
As we begin shaping our next strategic plan, this is an important moment to bring in new perspectives and leadership to help expand our impact.
We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about this mission and ready to contribute their experience, insight, and networks. We are especially interested in candidates who bring diverse perspectives and experiences that strengthen our board and reflect the communities we serve.

Where we’re looking for expertise
We are seeking individuals with expertise in the following areas:
- Strategic Marketing – C-suite-level marketing experience that can provide perspectives as we seek to expand thought leadership, brand evolution, and serve new segments while strengthening our core business.
- Wisconsin Economic Development Leadership & Influence – A relationship-oriented leader with strong Madison-area connections who can champion our mission, expand our network, and strengthen support for entrepreneurship and small business development in rural, northern Wisconsin.
- CDFI Industry Expert – An experienced CDFI professional who can bring national industry perspective, key relationships, and insight into emerging trends that will help guide our future growth and impact.
What we look for in board members
Serving on the EFund board is an opportunity to play an active role in supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening communities. Board members are expected to:
- Serve as an ambassador for EFund, representing the organization and helping share our mission and impact.
- Demonstrate a passion for entrepreneurship, our region, and the communities we serve.
- Contribute a strategic perspective to board discussions and organizational growth.
- Understand the distinction between governance and management—or be willing to learn and grow in the role.
- Engage personal and professional networks to create connections and opportunities for EFund.
- Contribute relevant skills, expertise, and perspectives that strengthen the organization.
- Actively engage in board service through meeting attendance, preparation, committee participation, and thoughtful stewardship.
